About Ella

Ella Patten is a speech-language pathology clinical fellow at Joy Therapy and Learning Center. Ella has worked with children since 2022. She received a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders, both from the University of Georgia. Her pediatric experience includes early language development, articulation and phonological disorders, autism spectrum disorder, fluency, and feeding, and she has also worked with adults with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, dysphagia, and complex medical needs. As a recent graduate, she loves continuing to learn and grow as a clinician while discovering new areas of interest.

Working with kids brings fun and joy to Ella’s day. She loves building meaningful relationships with children and their families, celebrating their progress, and helping them develop the communication skills they need to express themselves, connect with others, and grow in confidence. Ella holds a temporary speech-language pathology license in the State of Georgia, is Basic Life Support certified through the American Red Cross, and is trained in the Stuttering Measurement System. When she is not at the clinic, Ella loves staying involved at her church, playing tennis, doing Pilates, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

About speech therapy at Joy Therapy

Speech and language therapy at our practice addresses how a child understands language and how they express it, which are two different skills that can be affected independently. Our speech-language pathologists work on speech clarity, vocabulary and grammar, social communication, fluency, and augmentative communication, and several also hold additional training in oral motor and feeding therapy.

Parents are partners in every service we provide. You are welcome in sessions, and you should expect to leave with something specific to continue at home rather than a general instruction to practice more.
