Andrea Stell is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Joy Therapy and Learning Center. Andrea has worked with children since 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Science in Elementary Education, and a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis. She loves working with children who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder, and she is trained in SOS feeding.
Andrea loves working as a BCBA at Joy because she gets to see children build skills, gain confidence, and make meaningful progress every day, and she enjoys working alongside families and the team to create practical strategies that make a positive difference in the clinic and at home. Andrea is CPR and First Aid certified. She is married to her husband, Matt, and they have two kids, Campbell and Harper. She loves traveling and going to concerts.
ABA at our practice begins with an assessment of what a behavior is accomplishing for a child, because a behavior that looks disruptive is usually solving a problem the child has no better way to solve. Programs are written around communication, autonomy and skills that serve the child, and they are revised against session data rather than repeated. Parent training runs alongside every program.
Parents are partners in every service we provide. You are welcome in sessions, and you should expect to leave with something specific to continue at home rather than a general instruction to practice more.
