Courteney Conley is a Registered Behavior Technician at Joy Therapy and Learning Center. Courteney has worked with children since 2024. She received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of North Georgia and is currently working toward a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis at Arizona State University. Her experience is in autism spectrum disorder and early intervention.
What drew Courteney to working with kids is her son, who was born with spina bifida and other special needs. He would not be where he is without early intervention services and continued therapy, and she wants to help other kids who need that support just as her son did. Courteney is CPR and First Aid certified. When she is not at the clinic, she is spending time with her family and their two dogs, and she enjoys starting her day at the gym.
ABA at our practice begins with an assessment of what a behavior is accomplishing for a child, because a behavior that looks disruptive is usually solving a problem the child has no better way to solve. Programs are written around communication, autonomy and skills that serve the child, and they are revised against session data rather than repeated. Parent training runs alongside every program.
Parents are partners in every service we provide. You are welcome in sessions, and you should expect to leave with something specific to continue at home rather than a general instruction to practice more.
